Dr. Andrew T. Martin grew up in St. Louis until the age of 11 when his family moved to Shreveport,Lovers Lane Animal Medical Center Vet Veterinary - Dr. Martin Louisiana.  All his life he was surrounded  by family pets.  Although he had a passion for music (even a brief stint in a rock and roll band), Dr. Martin’s love for animals was even stronger. In 1990 he made the decision to pursue veterinary medicine. 

Dr. Martin attended Centenary College and Louisiana State University at Shreveport for his undergraduate studies and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in the summer of 1994.  While in high school, Dr. Martin met his future wife whom he married in 1991.  They have since had two daughters and a son.  His family shares their home with their cat Christina (aka Fluffy), their shy Labrador mix, Dexter and the newest addition, Diva Jane a playful Bichon.

 

Lovers Lane Animal Medical Center Vet Veterinary - Dr. Hays

Dr. Lon G. Hays grew up in Bossier City, Louisiana.  As a child Dr. Hays spent a lot of time on his family's farm taking care of the animals.  Growing up on the farm, he discovered his love for animals and decided he would like to become a veterinarian. 

While attending Louisiana State University for undergraduate studies, he met his future wife, who is also a practicing veterinarian.  He graduated from Louisiana State University in 1995 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Hays and his wife were married in 1996 and had their second daughter in February of 2004. 

Dr. Hays has two cats named Domino and Waylon and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Plug, whom he delivered by caesarian in January of 1999.

 

Lovers Lane Animal Medical Center Vet Veterinary - Dr. Jiranek

Dr. Barrett J. Jiranek grew up in Omaha, Nebraska.  He decided to become a veterinarian because he loves to work with animals and felt he could make a difference. 

He attended Kansas State University during his undergraduate and graduate school, completing his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May, 1999.  After graduating from vet school, he moved to Dallas and joined the LLAMC practice.  One year later he met his future wife while snowboarding in Colorado.  They wed in May of 2003 and look forward to starting a family in the near future.  At present, they share their home with Tasha, a Siberian Husky (whom he rescued from the SPCA) and their Labrador Retriever, Chloe.  

 

Lovers Lane Animal Medical Center Vet Veterinary - Dr. GrubbsDr. Steven C. Grubbs loved science and animals as long as he can remember.  Veterinary medicine was the natural choice.  After completing a Bachelors and a Masters in Biology at the University of North Texas, Dr. Grubbs earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1974.

Dr. Grubbs owned the Forney Animal Clinic from 1979-1991.  After selling his clinic, he worked as an educational consultant for a medical device manufacturer of surgical drills in Ft. Worth, TX from 1991-1999.  Since then, Dr. Grubbs has practiced veterinary medicine on a part-time basis and we are very happy to have him as our associate doctor. 

Dr. Grubbs met his wife in high school and they married in June 1970.  He has three children, two girls and a boy. The Grubbs family happily share their home with four cats.  Two cats were rescued by their children from trees and the cats adopted the Grubbs'. 

 

Lovers Lane Animal Medical Center Vet Veterinary - Dr. Price

Dr. Ryan M. Price grew up in Mishawaka, Indiana before moving to Houston in 1985. As a child, he had always been fascinated with animals and loved to study the sciences. He attended Texas A & M University where he earned a BS in Biomedical Science in 1997 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2001.

While in veterinary school, Dr. Price met his wife whom is also a practicing veterinarian. In November of 2004, Dr. Price and his wife moved back to her hometown here in Dallas. It was then that Dr. Price accepted a position with LLAMC as our newest associate doctor.

We would like to welcome Dr. Price and his wife Molly along with their two cats Quincy and Truman to the LLAMC family.

Lovers Lane Animal Medical Center Vet Veterinary - JacobsCyndi Jacobs joined the LLAMC team in May of 1998.  She started part-time with us while attending school full-time to become a Certified Shorthand Reporter.  Although she had devoted much time into her schooling, she made a decision to stay at LLAMC in a career field which she loves best

Cyndi grew up in a family of many pets and enjoys getting to interact with all of the pet lovers on a daily basis.  After becoming a full-time receptionist at LLAMC, she has worked her way up to the position she holds now as receptionist supervisor.

Cyndi met her husband Ted through a mutual friend back in 1995 and they wed 1 1/2 years later.  We have seen Cyndi through two pregnancies and she now has a son and a daughter.  The Jacobs family shares their home with their 100lb Lab mix named Luke and their three frisky kitties Thea, Popcorn and Skeeter.  Ultimately, Cyndi has found that if you love your job, it makes for a happy home life and she couldn't ask for more.
