Lost Pet
Losing your pet can be an extremely emotional time. We know how
it feels to have your furry friend missing and we would like to
help you in reuniting with your friend. At LLAMC we offer two
precautions to insure the safe return of our pet.
Home Again Chip –
Implanting a microchip is a permanent
identification for your animal. The microchip is implanted
between your pet’s shoulder blades where scar tissue will form to
hold the microchip in place. Animal shelters and veterinarians
all over the county are equipped with a scanner to scan any found
animals that are brought in to their facility. This too has
proven to be effective in unfortunate cases where an animal was
stolen from their owner. This procedure can be done during an
office visit or while the animal is having another procedure
performed under anesthesia.
24/7 Pet Return (1-800-716-1573)
–
The health and safety of your pet is #1 priority to
the LLAMC staff. To expedite the return of a lost pet, we give the
24/7 Pet Return platinum service complimentary to all the pets
whom we vaccinate. If someone finds a pet with our tags on the
pet's collar, they will find a 1-800 number in which they call to
have someone dispatched to retrieve the pet. They will return the
pet to the owner or to our clinic. If we are closed and
cannot reach the owner, they will take the pet to a host hospital
until they make contact with the owner or us. This service has
many other features to help the owner and their beloved pet. To
find out how 24/7 Pet Return can help you, please visit their
website.
Ideally we
recommend both services as they compliment each other. In
addition to someone finding a pet’s owner by scanning the
animal, 24/7 Pet Return will send someone to retrieve your pet for
you in case you are unable to be reached.
If you lost
your pet, there are many facilities that you can call to inquire
if your animal has been brought in, or who will assist you
in locating your animal.
